The Minister of Interior and Security of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdalle Mohamed Arab, together with the Commander of the Somaliland Police Force, Brigadier General Abdirahman Abdullahi Hassan (Abdi-Dheere), today officially received a group of police officers who recently returned from Ethiopia after successfully completing two years of specialized security and tactical training.
The returning officers underwent intensive professional training designed to strengthen their expertise in modern security operations, law enforcement tactics, and public safety management. Their graduation marks a significant milestone in Somaliland’s ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities and professionalism of its security institutions.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, both the Minister and the Police Commander commended the officers for their commitment, discipline, and perseverance throughout their training period abroad. They praised the officers for representing Somaliland with distinction and achieving outstanding results during the program.
Notably, one of the the Somaliland police officers secured second place among participating trainees, an achievement that reflects their dedication, professionalism, and the growing standards of Somaliland’s security forces.
Addressing the officers, Minister Abdalle and Commander Abdi-Dheere urged them to apply the knowledge, skills, and experience they gained in Ethiopia to strengthen national security and improve public service delivery across Somaliland.
The officials emphasized that investing in advanced training and professional development remains a key priority for Somaliland as it continues to build capable security institutions equipped to meet modern challenges.
The return of the officers is expected to contribute significantly to the effectiveness of the Somaliland Police Force and reinforce ongoing efforts to maintain peace, stability, and public safety throughout the country.
