Ministry of Information Deepens Partnership with TV Broadcasters, Unveils New Media Registration Plan

The Republic of Somaliland’s Ministry of Information, Culture and Awareness has strengthened its engagement with the country’s leading television broadcasters following a high-level meeting focused on enhancing media cooperation, improving the dissemination of official information, and advancing reforms in the media sector.

The meeting, chaired by the Ministry’s Director General, brought together senior representatives from Horn Cable TV, CBA TV, Horyaal TV, Bulsho TV, and Sky Cable TV. Discussions centered on expanding collaboration between the government and media institutions to ensure the timely delivery of accurate official information and improve the quality of media services across Somaliland.

A key item on the agenda was the Ministry’s newly introduced media registration framework, which aims to streamline the registration process for media organizations and strengthen institutional standards within the broadcasting sector.

Officials provided a detailed briefing on the objectives and implementation of the new registration system, emphasizing its role in supporting a more organized, professional, and accountable media environment.

Representatives of the participating television stations welcomed the initiative and expressed their support for the implementation of the new registration framework, reaffirming their commitment to working closely with the Ministry to promote responsible journalism and further develop Somaliland’s media industry.
