Somaliland Deepens Investment and Industrial Ties as UN Agencies Pledge Enhanced Cooperation in High-Level Engagement

The Director General of the Ministry of Investment and Industry Development of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdifatah Ismail Duale has received a high-level delegation from the United Nations Coordination Office in Somaliland, alongside representatives from various UN agencies operating in the country.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the Head of the UN Coordination Office, Mr. Tadle Damte, and representatives from agencies such as WFP, UNIDO, UNICEF, and others. The engagement highlights the strong presence of more than 17 United Nations agencies contributing to development initiatives in Somaliland.

During the discussions, the Director General Abdifatah provided a comprehensive overview of the Ministry’s mandate, its priorities in investment and industrial development, and ongoing efforts aimed at promoting investment and enhancing industrial growth across the country. Special attention was given to progress achieved in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) policy and its legal framework.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening cooperation and enhancing collaboration to further support investment promotion and industrial development in Somaliland.
