WADDANI Party Chairman Hersi Ali Haji Hassan has praised the people of Gabiley Region for their longstanding commitment to Somaliland’s sovereignty, honesty and fulfilment of promises, as he inaugurated the party’s newly renovated regional headquarters.

Speaking at Thursday’s inauguration ceremony, Chairman Hersi commended Gabiley residents for their contribution to safeguarding Somaliland’s nationhood and supporting the development of its state institutions.

“The people of Gabiley have always stood firm in defending Somaliland’s nationhood, and I thank you for your continued commitment to building the government,” he said.

Emphasising the region’s reputation for integrity and loyalty, he added: “The people of Gabiley are known for their honesty and commitment to fulfilling promises. Defending Somaliland’s nationhood is also a hallmark for which they are recognised.”

The inauguration followed extensive renovation and modernisation works at the WADDANI regional headquarters, aimed at improving its facilities, appearance and operational capacity.

The ceremony brought together senior national and regional officials, government ministers, the party’s deputy chairmen, representatives of the Gabiley regional and district administrations, members of parliament, WADDANI leaders, traditional elders, women and large numbers of residents.

The gathering underscored the importance of political party offices as centres for political organisation, community engagement and coordination between party leadership and supporters.

The upgraded headquarters is expected to provide a more functional working environment for WADDANI officials and members, enabling them to carry out party activities and responsibilities more effectively.

The event concluded in a celebratory atmosphere, with attendees welcoming the improvements and commending the party’s investment in strengthening its regional organisational structures.

Chairman Hersi’s remarks placed particular emphasis on Gabiley’s contribution to Somaliland’s state-building efforts, highlighting the importance of public unity, political commitment and collective responsibility in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.
