Member of the Somaliland Peace Committee, Mohamed Jama Abgaal, has strongly stated that there is no possibility of Awdal breaking away from Somaliland or causing instability within the country.
Speaking to members of the Somaliland community in Minneapolis, United States, Abgaal urged the public not to be distracted by what he described as misleading rumors circulating online and elsewhere.
He emphasized that the people of Awdal have historically played a significant and positive role in the building of the Somaliland state, contributing to national unity and development.
“Awdal is not going to break Somaliland apart, do not waste your time worrying about such claims,” he said.
The politician also called on Somaliland diaspora communities in the United States to actively celebrate the upcoming 18th May independence commemoration. He encouraged them to organize large and vibrant events in honor of the day, which he described as a key symbol of national identity and unity.
