The National Electoral Commission of the Republic of Somaliland has successfully wrapped up its 4th BRIDGE training workshop (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections) in Hargeisa.
The intensive five-day program was specially designed for electoral officials at district, regional, and national levels, including department directors, aiming to unify their understanding, sharpen technical skills, and build a cohesive, effective electoral management system.
Participants delved deeply into the core principles, legal frameworks, and modern techniques of Election Dispute Resolution (EDR). The training placed special emphasis on EDR’s critical role in fostering public confidence in elections, handling complaints, and managing disputes in a transparent, fair, and efficient manner.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), an international body dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions and supporting Somaliland’s electoral processes.
