The Chairman of Rejo (Hope) political association Mr. Abdilahi Ahmed Mohamed, has ruled out the notion that his party is either aligned or affiliated with any of the national parties that are currently vying in the political party elections for the three top slots.
The politician stated the fact as he addressed supporters during the campaign rally at the Beerta Horieda in Hargeisa (Independence Gardens) on Sunday.
He was categorical that REJO was in the race to vie for the top slots while aiming to become an official political party.
It marked the second day of campaign rallies that are scheduled to have each political party or organization to have a sole day of its own to conduct rallies all over the country as per the electoral regulations.
Various Rejo stalwarts addressed the gathering with the attending audience of supporters waving Rejo flags. Standard feature of the Rejo songs were played amidst deafening ululations.
Speakers appealed to the supporters to come out in large number and vote for it as they pelt out the organization’s policies to the audience.
Meanwhile supporters of the Rejo political organization held similar rallies across the country as they solicited votes from the masses.
Campaign rallies held in Burao, Erigavo, Ainabo, Odweyne and Borama saw the echoing of similar sentiments and frenzy of support as official beseeched potential voters to support the organization and clinch officialdom.
The constitution requires that the political parties and associations go to the polls to have the top three winners become the sole official political parties in the nation for a period of 10 years.
By doing so, the current three official political parties will have to compete against 7 other political organizations in the general elections scheduled to be held on the 13th of November this year.
The same day will also see the presidential elections being held on the same day with the official political parties of Kulmiye, Waddani and Ucid fielding candidates.
