The Ministry of Interior has stated that the power to determine the time of holding the elections rests with the National Elections Commission (NEC).
A press release issued yesterday by the Director of Information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Abdillahi Ahmed Arshe, has denied a false letter purported to have been sent by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Elections Commission.
Director Arshe called on the people who spread falsehoods to desist from doing so and work for what is good for the nation. He blamed people who oppose holding elections behind the peddling of lies.
