The Female Journalists’ Association (FIMO) has held a congratulatory and encouragement gathering for journalist Sagal Beeldeeq, following her recent election as Deputy Chairperson of the Somaliland Journalists Association (SOLJA).
The gathering focused on recognizing Beeldeeq’s achievement and encouraging greater representation and participation of women in Somaliland’s media sector.
FIMO members also shared advice with Beeldeeq on how to effectively carry out the responsibilities entrusted to her in her new leadership role.
The association emphasized the importance of supporting women journalists and strengthening their role in the media, while encouraging Beeldeeq to contribute to advancing the interests and representation of female media professionals through her position at SOLJA.
The event also served as an opportunity for FIMO members to reaffirm their support for women journalists taking on leadership responsibilities within Somaliland’s media institutions.
