The ruling WADDANI Party Chairman, Hersi Ali Haji Hassan, has assured residents of Borama that the government will fulfil its election campaign promises, saying some projects are already underway while others are expected to follow.

Hersi said the government’s development efforts would reach Borama and urged residents to remain patient, united and committed to working with the authorities to achieve their shared aspirations.

“The government’s ongoing efforts will reach you in Borama, and your expectations will be met. Good things are coming, so let us be patient, work together, remain united and strive for the common good,” he said.

He stressed that cooperation between the public and the government was essential to achieving meaningful development, adding that communities could make significant progress when they shared a common vision and worked together to protect their collective interests.

Recalling the commitments made during the election campaign, Hersi said four projects had been promised for the area, with two already in progress.

The projects include the Baki road and the road connecting Lawyo-Addo to Borama. He added that the construction of an airport and the development of a port in Lughaya were also expected to follow.

“When we were in Borama, we promised four projects. Two are already underway: the Baki road and the Lawyo-Addo-to-Borama road. The airport and the port in Lughaya will also follow,” he said.

The chairman’s remarks reaffirm the government’s stated commitment to delivering development projects in the Awdal region, while his appeal for patience and cooperation underscores the importance of public support as the promised infrastructure initiatives move forward.
