The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Somaliland will convene a national conference on education financing on 26–27 October 2026, bringing together government officials, parliamentarians, donors, business leaders and education partners to mobilise resources for the sector.
The conference will be held at the Serene Sarovar Premiere Hotel in Hargeisa and will focus on strengthening investment in education, improving its quality and expanding access to learning opportunities for all children across Somaliland.
Education Minister Prof. Ismail Duale said the conference aims to mobilise sufficient financial resources to address the needs of the education sector and support its continued development.
Participants will include representatives of the government, parliament, donor organisations, local institutions, the private sector and education partners. Their discussions are expected to focus on strengthening education financing and identifying ways to ensure adequate resources for the sector.
The conference comes as Somaliland seeks to strengthen its education system and broaden access to quality learning. Its central message is that investing in education means investing in the future of children and the long-term development of the Republic of Somaliland.
“Education financing is an investment in the future of Somaliland’s children and the development of the nation.”
