Somaliland Finance Ministry Reviews Quarterly Performance, Orders Revenue Push and Transparency Reforms

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland has held its quarterly performance review meeting for the period covering April to June 2026, assessing the work of its various departments and administrative units.

The meeting, held on Thursday morning, was chaired by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Abdilahi Hassan Aden, and attended by the State Minister, Hon. Ismail Mowlid Abdilahi , and the Director General, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Suleiman

Officials reviewed detailed performance reports from the past three months, discussing key achievements, operational challenges, and strategies to further strengthen institutional efficiency and service delivery.

The discussions focused on several priority areas, including the acceleration of domestic revenue collection, strengthening transparency and accountability mechanisms, improving staff skills and professional capacity, and ensuring strict compliance with public service regulations.

The Ministry also resolved to enhance public communication by regularly sharing information on government-funded projects under the national budget. It further emphasized the need to improve the working environment within the Ministry to boost productivity and operational effectiveness.

In conclusion, the leadership instructed all departments to fully implement the resolutions adopted during the meeting and align their activities with the Ministry’s Strategic Plan 2024–2028 and annual work plans. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to achieving sustainable economic growth and strengthening good governance across all operations.
