I am writing to underscore a matter of profound importance to the future of the Republic of Somaliland—the cause of attaining international recognition. This objective is a collective national responsibility that we all share, transcending political affiliations and social divisions.
The pursuit of recognition is not merely a political ambition but a fundamental national aspiration embraced by all Somalilanders. It is an inherent right that rests upon the shoulders of our country’s leadership, national political parties, state institutions, religious scholars, elders, youth, and indeed every member of our society. To realise this aspiration, it is imperative that the government be accorded the wholehearted support necessary to sustain and advance its diligent efforts toward securing Somaliland’s rightful place in the international community.
Recognition is non-negotiable; it is a national entitlement foundational to the sovereign identity of Somaliland. Achieving this status will enhance our country’s standing on the global stage and unlock a multitude of opportunities across various sectors, including security, investment, trade, technological advancement, economic growth, and broader international collaboration.
At this critical juncture, it is paramount that we demonstrate unwavering unity, political maturity, and a resolute sense of national responsibility. History teaches us that the international community responds to those nations who articulate a singular, united voice steeped in conviction and solidarity.
