In a heartfelt display of national gratitude, Somaliland’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Awareness, Hon. Barkhad Jama Batuun, today commended the entire nation for delivering a powerful and unforgettable commemoration of the May 18 independence anniversary.
Speaking at a press conference this morning, Minister Batuun extended profound thanks to citizens, government institutions, and all segments of society who turned out in massive numbers to celebrate the historic occasion with pride and patriotism.
The Minister gave special recognition to Somaliland’s dedicated security forces — including the National Army, Police, Custodial Corps, Immigration Service, Fire Brigade, and Navy — for their outstanding professionalism in maintaining ironclad security, order, and seamless coordination throughout the grand national events.
He also lauded the remarkable contributions of businessmen, students, youth, women, and every sector of Somaliland society, highlighting their deep sense of patriotism, unbreakable unity, and overwhelming support that made the celebrations a resounding success.
Minister Batuun emphasized that the people of Somaliland have once again sent a clear message to the world: a nation united, resolute in its identity, and unwavering in its commitment to protect the hard-won independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Somaliland.
