Central Bank of the Republic of Somaliland’s Deputy Governor Hamse Abdirahman Khaire has praised the people of Somaliland for the strong sense of unity and solidarity displayed during the nationwide commemoration of May 18, Somaliland’s National Day.

Speaking at a large gathering held in Sweden to mark the occasion, Hamse said Somalilanders across the world remain united by their shared identity, history, and future aspirations. The event brought together a large number of members from the Somaliland diaspora living in Sweden.

Addressing attendees, the Deputy Governor emphasized that geographical distance does not divide the people of Somaliland, noting that citizens everywhere stand together under one national vision.

“Whether we are in Hargeisa, Berbera, Borama, Burco, or here in Sweden, we are all one people, with one flag, one history, and we share one destiny and one future,” Hamze stated.

The remarks were widely welcomed by participants at the event, who celebrated the significance of May 18 and Somaliland’s continued spirit of unity among communities both at home and abroad.
