H.E. Isaac Herzog has welcomed the first-ever Ambassador of Somaliland to Israel, Hon. Mohamed Hagi, after the envoy officially presented his diplomatic credentials during a ceremony held in Israel.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, President Herzog said he was “delighted” to receive Ambassador Hagi, describing the moment as an important milestone in the growing relationship between Israel and Somaliland.
The Israeli president also praised the historic occasion in which Somaliland’s national anthem was played for the first time ever in Israel by an official orchestra. Ambassador Hagi expressed appreciation for the gesture and commended the performance.
“This important new partnership between our nations will bring a shared future of cooperation in a range of fields to the benefit of both our peoples and the entire region,” President Herzog stated.
The meeting marks a notable diplomatic development as Somaliland continues efforts to strengthen international partnerships and expand its global diplomatic presence.
