The Grand Chief of the Samaron Clans, Ugaas Abdirashid Ugaas Roble, speaking at the conclusion of the Erigavo peace conference, praised the President of Somaliland for his efforts in establishing peace in Erigavo and uniting the Sanaag region’s communities.
He described the President as an honest leader who delivers on his promises. “Today, we are here for the peace and security of Somaliland, where we have come together. I invite the Sultan Said Sultan Abdisalan to the Awdal region, where we will warmly welcome him. The great hope we had has been realized by our President, who made this peace conference possible.”
In just nine months, he has shown himself to be a just and honest president. He has fulfilled the promises he made during his campaign, and those steps are clear to us. The President sent a peace delegation led by Mohamed Arale Dur and Abdikadir Jirde to Jigjiga, where I was expelled from the country under fire.
On the other hand, the Grand Chief of the Samaron Clans pledged to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the President of Somaliland and to work together on matters of peace, security, and the pursuit of international recognition, which he stated is nearby.
He said, “The peace we enjoy today was brought by our national President. May Allah bless him and grant him a long life. May Allah guide him in the peace and reconciliation he is pursuing. In less than nine months, he has accomplished these great tasks.
“We stand by his side, supporting him fully. Today, we pledge to you that recognition is within our reach, and we are working toward it, even as far as the United States government. The President has told me he is handling everything, and you will be proud. Prosperity is coming to our land, with peace and security at the forefront, and it is our duty to work together.” Added Ugaas Abdirashid
Ugaas Abdirashid Ugaas Roble called on all Somalilanders to work toward maintaining peace and security in both the East and the West. He promised that they would collectively confront Somaliland’s enemies and prayed for the success of the peace conference, the Somaliland community, and the nation as a whole.
“It is our pledge to ensure peace and security wherever issues arise, in the West or the East, and to collectively face any aggressors. This is the promise we have made to the President, and we will fulfill it.”
Let us continue this unity—a united Somaliland, a united people, a united leadership, and a united culture.”
