In a landmark achievement, the Peace Conference held in Erigavo, the Republic of Somaliland’s Sanaag region, concluded today with six transformative resolutions aimed at fostering peace, unity, and progress.
The resolutions were read by Hon. Osman Ibrahim Nur, Somaliland’s Minister of Transport and Road Development and Chairman of the Peace Committee. The conference brought together communities from across the region in a powerful display of solidarity.

Support for Unity and Statehood: The brotherly communities of Sanaag unanimously agreed to safeguard their security, unity, and brotherhood while pledging full support for the statehood of the Republic of Somaliland.
Call for Active Peace Advocacy: Participants called for proactive efforts to promote peace and to engage anyone absent from the peace framework established by Somaliland’s President, reinforcing a collective commitment to stability.
Urgent Push for Development: Acknowledging developmental challenges in Sanaag, the communities urged the Somaliland government to swiftly implement projects to address critical needs and drive regional progress.
Collaborative Security Measures: It was agreed that the Somaliland government will lead efforts to ensure regional security, working closely with local communities to firmly address any threats to peace.
Gratitude to Leadership: The communities expressed deep appreciation to the President of Somaliland for his tireless efforts in laying the foundation for peace and fostering unity across the nation.
