The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Awareness is set to launch transformative programs aimed at fostering creativity and skill development among Somaliland’s youth, according to Director General Abdisalan Mohamud Duale. In a recent statement, Duale emphasized the ministry’s pivotal role in nurturing the nation’s young talent, calling it a cornerstone for Somaliland’s future.
In a significant move, the President of Somaliland has unveiled plans to revive the highly anticipated Talent Showcase Program, previously a successful platform for young people to display their creative and professional skills. The program, fully funded by the President, is scheduled to take place by the end of 2025. “This initiative will provide a stage for our youth to shine and showcase their diverse talents, contributing to the cultural and economic growth of our nation,” Duale said.
Adding to the excitement, the ministry announced the upcoming opening of a new small theater in Hargeisa, designed to host entertainment and developmental programs, including evening events tailored for the youth. “This theater will be a vibrant space for creativity, where young people can engage in meaningful activities that inspire and empower,” the Director General noted.
The ministry is actively preparing for these initiatives, with a focus on ensuring smooth execution. “Our youth are enthusiastically preparing, and we are working diligently to make these programs a success,” Duale added.
These efforts underscore Somaliland’s commitment to harnessing the potential of its younger generation, positioning them as key drivers of national progress. The Talent Showcase and the new theater are expected to attract widespread participation, offering a platform for emerging talents to shine on a national stage.
