In a significant step toward boosting economic development, Somaliland’s Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Hon. Abdillahi Hasan Aden, and the General Manager of the Somaliland Ports Authority, Mr. Ali Diriye Ahmed, held strategic meetings with a high-level delegation from DP World, led by Mr. Supachai Wattanaveerachai, the company’s East Africa Manager.
The discussions, which included Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Ismail Mawlid Abdillahi and Director General of the Ministry Mr. Mohamed Hasan Saleban, centered on deepening cooperation between Somaliland and DP World, with a focus on investment opportunities and economic growth. Key sectors for potential high-impact projects were analyzed, and both parties exchanged insights on the current economic landscape and future collaboration prospects.
A separate, hours-long meeting in Hargeisa between Mr. Ali Diriye Ahmed and the DP World delegation further reinforced the commitment to advancing joint initiatives, particularly in port development and related economic ventures.
Both sides agreed to hold additional meetings to solidify their partnership and accelerate Somaliland’s development agenda. This collaboration signals a promising future for economic progress in the region, leveraging DP World’s global expertise to unlock Somaliland’s potential.
