Agriculture Minister Unveils Ambitious 2025–2030 Strategy at Hargeisa Workshop

Somaliland Ministry of Agricultural Development launched a pivotal workshop in Hargeisa to unveil and refine the Strategic Plan for Agricultural Development (2025–2030), a roadmap aimed at transforming the nation’s agricultural sector over the next five years. The event, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, was inaugurated by Minister Dr. Mohamoud Ige Yusuf, who emphasized the strategy’s role in fostering sustainable growth and food security.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including agricultural institutions, policymakers, and development partners, to discuss the draft strategy and gather input for its finalization. Minister Yusuf welcomed attendees, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts to ensure the plan’s success. “This strategy is a collective vision for Somaliland’s agricultural future, and your contributions today will shape its impact,” he stated.

Ibrahim Cumar, Director of the Ministry’s Planning Department, outlined the strategy’s core components, which include detailed policy priorities, implementation plans, and mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation. He stressed that all partner organizations must align their projects with the strategy to maximize its effectiveness.

Key highlights of the workshop included:
