The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, and his delegation, who are still on their mission to build peace, develop the country have arrived in Burao City, where they were warmly welcomed after almost a two-month long sojourn in the Sanaag region.
Upon his arrival in Burao on Thursday, he inaugurated the renovated Burao Technical Institute, and also inspected the various departments of the college.
The VP emphasized the value of vocational training for the development of society.
He said, “The Vocational Training School in Burao has special memories for me because when I was still in school, some of my classmates opted to join the polytechnic institution and were soon employed after completing their courses while we were still studying hence it underscores the great value of attaining skills”.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to bolster and fledge technical centers in the country noting that they were catalysts of development and progress within the society.
The VP who has been on a crucial trip to the eastern parts of the country to foster peace and integrate civilian militia into the mainstream armed forces, revealed that the efforts had gone well and is about to be completed soon.
He pointed out that the last of the lot to be absorbed would have its ceremonial function held in Burao.
