Government Officially Integrates Largest Civilian Militia

The Vice President of Somaliland, H.E. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, and his delegation officially reintegrate over the largest civilian militia and their vehicles yesterday, which will now become part of the Somaliland National Army.
The ceremony to formalize the integration of the civilian militia and their combat vehicles took place at the football stadium in Ainabo district, attended by ministers, parliamentarians, traditional leaders, and various other segments of the local community.

Speaking to the people of Ainabo, Vice President Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi expressed deep gratitude to the local community and stated:
“The plan to integrate the civilian militia is nearing completion, thanks to Allah Almighty. What remains is to stabilize the eastern regions of the country and work together to bring peace to El Afweyn, which I am hopeful will conclude successfully, especially now that the militias have been unified.”

On another note, the Vice President announced that the government is committed to providing water and other essential support to communities affected by drought in those regions.
“I bear witness that the eastern regions of Somaliland are facing widespread water scarcity. As a government, we are striving to ensure these communities have access to water and to implement development projects,” said Somaliland Vice President Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi.
