The 5th National ICT Conference opened in Hargeisa

The annual 5th Somaliland ICT conference was held in Hargeisa, the conference organized by the Ministry of Communication and Technology of Somaliland designed to review the developments and changes in modern technology in the country which is moving at a tremendous speed and how to take advantage of it.

The 5th Somaliland ICT conference is being attended by telecommunications companies in the country as well as companies that provide technology services and are presented at the forum.

The Minister of Communications and Technology, Dr. Abdiwali Sheikh Abdilahi Sufi Jibril, said that they hold a conference once a year that brings together all stakeholders in technological industry such as government departments, telecommunication companies, business entities, students and technology experts, to present studies and researches that has been done on how the use modern technology.

 

The theme of this year’s ICT conference in Somaliland is “Technological change and the availability of sustainable infrastructure”, which is analyzed to find or develop modern communication and technology infrastructure.

He said. “The purpose of the meeting is to meet annually and to look at the changes in technology and how to use them by presenting the studies and researches that have been done, and also to present specific points that have priority, and the companies have the opportunity to introduce new services to the community”.

He said further, “This year’s theme is ‘technological change and the availability of sustainable infrastructure’, it is analyzed how to find or improve the infrastructure of communication and modern technology and as we know that the use of technology has been very advanced and intricate”.

This year is the fifth year that Somaliland’s Ministry of Communications and Technology has held the Somaliland ICT Conference.
