H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo has issued a Presidential Decree # JSL/M/MG/241-3185/042015 appointing members of 18 May commemorations preparatory committee to be Chaired by the Minister of Interior Hon Mohamed Ali Warancade.

Re: 18 May Commemorations Preparatory Committee
Gentlemen and Ladies,
As you’re well aware of, we shall be soon commemorating the 24th anniversary since we reinstated independence and broke away from the ill-fated Union with Somalia, 18 May is a special day which demands special commemorations.
Therefore, the above named officials who are members of the national preparatory committee shall be tasked with 18 May commemorations the preparation.
I therefore expect the national preparatory committee members to depict and fulfill their patriotic obligations and I do also hope, all regional administrations to extend their assistance to the national preparatory committee.
