Somaliland Government Reaffirms Commitment to Peaceful Resolution of Sool region Issues

Republic of Somaliland’s Minister of Information, Culture and National Guidance, Barkhad Jama Batuun, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving the situation in the Sool region through peaceful dialogue and reconciliation.

Speaking to the media in Hargeisa, Minister Batuun said the government remains determined to pursue a peaceful approach, emphasizing that lasting stability can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual understanding, and consensus.

“The government’s approach to resolving the issues in the Sool region is rooted in peace and conflict resolution,” the minister said. “A sustainable solution can only come through dialogue, agreement, and the preservation of peace.”

He also urged citizens to remain vigilant against individuals spreading inflammatory rhetoric and false information, warning that such actions could undermine efforts to maintain peace and stability.

“The public should not listen to those who incite conflict or spread misinformation within our communities,” Batuun added.

The minister’s remarks underscore the Somaliland government’s stated policy of seeking a peaceful and negotiated resolution to the challenges facing the Sool region while encouraging public support for reconciliation efforts.
