The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland has stepped up efforts to accelerate institutional reforms, with Director General Mohamed Hassan Suleiman concluding a three-day training programme for the Ministry’s Reform Coordination Committee.
The training was designed to strengthen the committee’s capacity to coordinate and oversee planned reforms, ensuring that the Ministry’s reform agenda translates into practical improvements in its operations.
The programme forms part of the Ministry’s Change Management Strategy, supported by the SERP Project, which aims to enhance coordination among departments, strengthen monitoring of reform plans and ensure the sustainability of institutional changes.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director General Mohamed Hassan Suleiman urged committee members to translate the knowledge and skills gained during the training into measurable results.
He stressed that successful reform must extend beyond written strategies and planning documents, with tangible improvements reflected in the Ministry’s daily operations.
SERP Project Manager Mohamoud Omar Hussein also emphasised the importance of effective coordination and continuous monitoring, noting that these are essential to ensuring reforms are implemented systematically and embedded across the Ministry.
The training reflects the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, improve internal coordination and advance the implementation of its planned reforms.
