Nairobi – The Executive Director of the Somaliland Civil Service Institute (CSI), Mahmoud Said Adan, alongside the Institute’s Planning Director, Abdirahman Haybe, attended the centenary celebration of the Kenyan School of Government (KSG) held today in Nairobi. The event marked 100 years since the establishment of the prestigious KSG.
At the gathering, Director Adan delivered a keynote address highlighting the role of the CSI and the significant strides it has made since its inception. He noted that the CSI is currently celebrating its 21st year of operation, serving nearly 50,000 civil servants across various government institutions in Somaliland.
In his speech, the Director emphasized that building the skills and professional competencies of public employees is fundamental to improving service delivery for citizens. He also expressed gratitude for the invitation and underscored the value of the cooperative relationship between the CSI and the KSG.
Director Mahmoud Said Adan outlined five key pillars for strengthening public administration and service delivery across African governments. These included reinforcing integrity and accountability, ensuring equitable access to services for all citizens, enhancing and sustaining civil servant training programs, modernizing public service operations, and promoting research and institutional collaboration to develop lasting solutions to social and economic challenges.
He further stressed the importance of combating corruption, protecting public assets, and ensuring that civil servants remain free from political influence in order to maintain neutrality and impartiality in serving the public.
