Participants included representatives from major humanitarian organisations and Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners, including:
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) were among the Red Cross partners working with the SRCS Somaliland, together with representatives from more than fifteen countries, including the Danish Red Cross, Norwegian Red Cross, Icelandic Red Cross, British Red Cross, Canadian Red Cross, Italian Red Cross, Finnish Red Cross, and German Red Cross.
Focus on Emergency Response and Climate Resilience
During the meeting, humanitarian partners discussed new strategies to improve coordination and strengthen humanitarian service delivery for vulnerable communities affected by drought, flooding, displacement, and public health emergencies.

- Enhancing coordination in emergency response operations
- Strengthening health services and ambulance systems
- Expanding disaster risk reduction programmes
- Improving community-based climate adaptation initiatives
- Building long-term local humanitarian capacity
SRCS Somaliland officials highlighted the growing importance of international solidarity and technical cooperation in addressing recurring humanitarian challenges across Somaliland.
The meeting reaffirmed SRCS Somaliland’s central role in emergency response and community support services, including ambulance operations, first aid training, and public health interventions.
Humanitarian sources noted that the increasing participation of international organisations reflects growing global confidence in SRCS Somaliland’s-led programmes and its expanding operational reach throughout Somaliland.
Hargeisa Emerges as Regional Humanitarian Hub
Mansoor Hotel continues to serve as a major venue for international humanitarian workshops, coordination meetings, and development conferences in Hargeisa, further strengthening the city’s role as a regional centre for humanitarian dialogue and cooperation.
Participants concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to long-term collaboration and coordinated humanitarian action aimed at improving resilience and emergency preparedness across Somaliland and the wider region.
The Hargeisa gathering marks another significant milestone in SRCS Somaliland’s ongoing efforts to deepen international partnerships and enhance humanitarian response systems through global cooperation and local capacity building.
