The Minister of Transport and Road Development of Somaliland, Osman Ibrahim Nuur, has announced that the road linking Lowya-Addo, Zaila, and Borama is a key infrastructure project aimed at improving transportation and development in the Awdal and Salel regions.
The minister stated that the road, which stretches 256 kilometers, will be constructed in line with international standards. He further confirmed that the project has an estimated cost of 30 million US dollars.
According to the minister, the completion of the road will significantly enhance the movement of people and goods, strengthen trade activities, and improve connectivity between coastal and inland areas. He noted that this will contribute to economic growth and broader regional development.
“This Lowya-Addo–Zaila–Borama road is an important transportation route. It is 256 km long and is intended to be built to international standards. A large amount of money, totaling 30 million US dollars, has been allocated for this road,” the minister said during the signing ceremony of the first phase of the project.
