The Accountant General of the Republic of Somaliland has officially submitted the Government’s consolidated financial accounts for the year 2025 to the Auditor General of the Nation, fulfilling a key legal obligation in the country’s financial governance framework.
The comprehensive financial report presents a clear picture of the Government’s overall fiscal position, detailing revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities recorded during the 2025 fiscal year.
Officials say the report is a significant milestone in promoting transparency, accountability, and sound financial management across public institutions.
It encompasses all major sectors of government, including the Central Government, Local Governments, Public Enterprises, and externally funded projects. This unified approach highlights improved coordination and consolidation of financial data at the national level—an essential component for informed decision-making and effective development planning.
The submission also marks continued progress in strengthening the Public Financial Management (PFM) system. The Auditor General is now set to begin a thorough audit and verification process to ensure the accuracy of the report and its compliance with national laws and financial regulations.
