Khadar Abdullahi Hassan (Khadar Gureyte), Director of Dawan Media, on Tuesday welcomed a high-level delegation from DT Global and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) at the newspaper’s headquarters in Hargeisa.
The meeting was also attended by Jama Awil Nuh, Director of Planning at the Ministry of Information, and Abdikadir Da’ar, Deputy Chairman of Dawan.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and advancing the digitization of Dawan’s historic archive, which dates back to 1998, to preserve and modernize this valuable media heritage.
Director Khadar guided the delegation through the newspaper’s facilities and showcased the extensive physical archive.
The digitization initiative aims to safeguard the historical records against risks, ensure long-term preservation, and facilitate easier access for researchers, students, and journalists.
DT Global was represented by Bihawa Swaleh, Sadia H. Mohamoud, Mukhtar Yusuf Osman and Muna Ahmed Omar, while the SDC delegation included Ms. Martina.
