A high-level government delegation comprising representatives from the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Somaliland and the House of Elders has successfully concluded the first phase of peace mediation efforts in parts of the Awdal and Selel regions.
Traditional elders and prominent figures from the Selel clans have formally signed an agreement committing to reinforce security measures and prevent any recurrence of conflict between the closely related Awdal and Selel Region communities.
The delegation is now advancing discussions aimed at securing a comprehensive and enduring peace accord to be signed by the Awdal clans.
These ongoing peace initiatives are designed to restore harmonious coexistence and unity among the communities, with strong expectations that lasting stability will pave the way for accelerated development and prosperity across the Awdal and Selel regions.
