In a vibrant celebration held at a grand venue in Hargeisa, the Republic of Somaliland’s pioneering digital printing and advertising leader, Sagaljet, hosted an unforgettable 19th anniversary party. The event overflowed with pride, heartfelt speeches, and standing ovations that highlighted the company’s impeccable reputation.
The most striking highlight was Sagaljet’s spotless record. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Milgo Mohamed proudly declared: “Throughout my tenure in this role, not a single complaint about Sagaljet has ever reached my office — and that speaks volumes.”
Minister of Finance Abdullahi Hassan echoed this endorsement, confirming: “I can confirm that zero reports of tax evasion or any financial irregularity involving Sagaljet have ever come to my attention.”
Founder Abdi Yusuf Aar shared the guiding philosophy behind the company’s remarkable success: “Elevate your people, and the company rises with them. Elevate your people, and your customers experience the difference. The customer is the true arena where businesses compete — and win — loyalty.”
He spotlighted inspiring career journeys within the company, most notably that of current CEO Hersi, who began as an accountant and rose to the top — clear proof that Sagaljet serves as a genuine launchpad for talent in Somaliland.
The evening’s most emotional moment came when Aar recounted two poignant incidents: the tragic deaths of two employees in service, and the case of Salah Hussein, who suffered a serious on-duty injury. In response, the company ensured full support, declaring: “You will remain part of Sagaljet for life — as long as you breathe.” Aar offered solemn prayers for the departed colleagues, drawing waves of emotion and respectful applause from the audience.
The celebration also shone a light on key milestones: securing the landmark first major contract from Dahabshiil in 2009, expanding services to the remotest corners of Somaliland, and making relentless investments in employee training, innovation, state-of-the-art equipment, and infrastructure. These efforts have cemented Sagaljet as a household name from Hargeisa to Berbera and beyond.
Long-serving employees received special recognition, including Mohamed Said Maano for his 19 years of unwavering dedication, along with others who helped forge the company’s legacy. The event reached a triumphant close by crowning Abdiqani Mohamud Ibrahim as Best Employee of 2025 — a shining example of the commitment that continues to drive Sagaljet forward and dozens shined their respective departments.
From flawless operations to profound displays of loyalty and integrity, Sagaljet’s 19th anniversary was more than a milestone — it was a powerful testament that people-first values, unwavering quality, and ethical business practices still triumph in Somaliland.
