In a heartwarming call to action, Sheikh Almis Haji Yahya, a revered Somali scholar, has rallied the Somali community and the global Muslim ummah to unite in support of an inspiring project: the establishment of Dar Uloom Academy Hargeisa.
This visionary institution, soon to break ground, promises to become a cornerstone for nurturing the next generation of Islamic scholars, equipping them with deep knowledge of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) to lead the ummah with wisdom and compassion.
Sheikh Almis, whose lifelong dream has been to create a hub for Islamic learning, shared his enthusiasm for the academy, which he developed after thoughtful consultations with fellow scholars.
“This is a golden opportunity to shape a future where our youth lead with faith, morality, and expertise in Islamic sciences,” he said, highlighting the academy’s mission to produce scholars skilled in fiqh (jurisprudence), tafsir (Quranic exegesis), hadith, and Islamic rulings.
The academy will welcome boys and girls aged 13–14, guiding them through a comprehensive educational journey until they reach 25.
With a curriculum spanning foundational to university-level studies, Dar Uloom Academy Hargeisa will be led by distinguished scholars dedicated to fostering a generation of principled, knowledgeable leaders ready to address the spiritual and practical needs of the ummah.
Drawing inspiration from the golden era of Islamic scholarship, Sheikh Almis emphasized the importance of reviving centers of learning that once illuminated the world with knowledge.
“Dar Uloom Academy will be a revival of that legacy, a place where young minds are molded to carry the torch of Islam with pride and integrity,” he said.
In a heartfelt appeal, Sheikh Almis invited everyone to contribute—whether through resources, skills, or encouragement—describing the project as a chance to earn blessings in this life and the hereafter. “Every effort counts,” he said.
“Together, we can build a legacy that will shape the future of our community and beyond.”
The community is buzzing with excitement as Sheikh Almis announced a special event on October 24 at Zawadi & Event Center, where he will share more details about this transformative initiative.
Dar Uloom Academy Hargeisa is poised to become a symbol of hope, unity, and progress, inspiring Somalis and Muslims worldwide to invest in a brighter, faith-driven future.
This noble endeavor is already sparking optimism, with many eager to play a part in creating a lasting impact. As Sheikh Almis passionately concluded, “Let us come together to build Dar Uloom Academy, a home for the scholars of tomorrow, guiding our ummah toward a future of faith, knowledge, and moral excellence.”
