The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland successfully concluded a three-day training program for 30 officials, aimed at enhancing performance appraisal and work plan monitoring. The initiative, led by Director General Mr. Mohamed Hassan Saleeban, alongside the Directors of Planning and Human Resources, took place at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The training focused on equipping participants from various departments, including the General Accounting Office, with critical skills in work plan development, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing. Designed to foster efficient administration and result-oriented operations, the program aligns with the Ministry’s priorities and Somaliland’s National Development Plan.

“This training is a cornerstone in building a culture of accountability and continuous learning,” said Mr. Saleeban. “By strengthening our staff’s ability to create measurable, outcome-driven plans, we are better positioned to make informed decisions and achieve our strategic goals.”

The initiative, supported by the Ministry’s Planning, Statistics, and Human Resources units, is expected to significantly enhance the implementation of the 2025 Annual Work Plan, the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, and the development of the 2026 Work Plan. The Ministry anticipates that these efforts will drive operational excellence and contribute to Somaliland’s economic development.
