Somaliland’s Minister of Trade and Tourism, Hon. Abdirahman Hassan Noor, held productive high-level meetings with leading Ethiopian business figures during a working visit to Ethiopia. Representatives from major companies, including Mohan Group of Companies, Bamacon Engineering, Alpha Post Tension Ultimate Chemicals, and Anchor Tower Engineering & Consultancy, engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering trade ties between the two nations.
The talks centered on enhancing cooperation, with a key focus on increasing the use of Somaliland’s Berbera Port, recognized as East Africa’s most modern port facility. Strategies were explored to enable Ethiopian businesses to leverage Berbera for imports and exports, strengthening economic connectivity. The meetings also covered opportunities for collaboration in trade and infrastructure development, with both sides committed to joint efforts to drive economic growth in the Horn of Africa.
The Somaliland government reiterated its dedication to fostering progressive trade markets, promoting economic cooperation, and encouraging regional businesses to utilize the Berbera Port, positioning it as a pivotal hub for trade in the region.
