BORAMA, Somaliland – In a significant boost to urban infrastructure, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), on Tuesday inaugurated newly completed asphalt roads and launched construction on additional projects during his working visit to Borama.
The President personally cut the ribbon on a series of modern, paved roads completed by the Borama District Local Government. In a subsequent ceremony, he laid the foundation stones for the next phase of road networks slated for development, signaling a continued commitment to the city’s growth.
The event was met with strong public enthusiasm and was attended by high-ranking government officials, the Awdal Regional Administration, the Boorama District Council, traditional elders, and diverse members of the community.
Addressing the crowd, President Irro underscored the critical importance of such infrastructure. “These new roads are not merely strips of asphalt; they are the arteries of our economy,” he stated. “They are vital for enhancing trade, connecting our communities, and facilitating the daily movement of people and goods that is essential for prosperity.”
The President further praised the diligent efforts of the Borama Local Government administration, highlighting their pivotal role in delivering tangible developmental services that directly improve the lives of all residents in the district.
This development initiative is seen as part of a broader strategy to accelerate urban development across Somaliland’s major cities, focusing on essential services and infrastructure that foster economic activity and improve quality of life.
