The Director General of the Somaliland National Printing Agency, Mr. Abdirahman Ibrahim Adan (Abees), has issued a significant circular today, announcing new appointments and organizational changes aimed at enhancing the agency’s efficiency and service delivery.
The directive, dated August 4, 2025, outlines a strategic overhaul to accelerate the agency’s operations, improve management quality, and strengthen transparency and accountability across its departments. This move is part of a broader initiative to modernize the National Printing Agency, which plays a critical role in producing secure government documents and serving both public and private sector printing needs.
Among the key changes, several new Departmental Directors have been appointed to lead various sectors of the agency. The restructuring is expected to streamline workflows and bolster the agency’s capacity to meet growing demands. The reforms align with the agency’s mission to provide timely, secure, and high-quality printing services, as mandated by Presidential Decree No. 02/97, issued in 1997 by the late President Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal.
The circular emphasizes the agency’s commitment to sustainable progress, with a focus on protecting government revenue documents from counterfeiting, upholding the government’s reputation by combating forgery, and reducing disputes caused by falsified legal documents. These efforts are intended to reinforce the agency’s position as Somaliland’s leading security printing and publishing house.
This announcement follows recent developments at the agency, including a significant salary increase for employees in July 2025 and the acquisition of modern printing machinery, which have enhanced its operational capabilities. The National Printing Agency continues to serve as a cornerstone of Somaliland’s administrative infrastructure, ensuring the production of critical documents for government institutions and private entities alike.
