National Economic Development Committee Convenes Key Meeting to Advance 2025 Economic Strategy

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Somaliland hosted the monthly meeting of the National Economic Development Committee at its headquarters today, focusing on strategies to propel the nation’s economic growth. Chaired by Hon. Abdillahi Hasan Adan, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, the meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss critical initiatives aligned with Somaliland’s Vision 2030 and the third National Development Plan.

The marathon session saw robust discussions on pivotal topics, including:

  1. Approval of the 2025 Economic Development Strategy: The committee evaluated and endorsed Somaliland’s economic roadmap for 2025, ensuring alignment with long-term national goals.
  2. Progress on Production Enhancement Study: Updates were presented on ongoing research to boost national productivity, with in-depth analysis of findings to date.
  3. Planning for the Annual Economic Forum: The committee deliberated on the structure and execution of Somaliland’s upcoming annual Economic Development Forum, a key platform for shaping economic policy.

Minister Adan praised the committee for their dedication and the seamless coordination of efforts, emphasizing the productive outcomes of the discussions. “Today’s meeting marks another step forward in our collective commitment to strengthening Somaliland’s economy,” he said, highlighting the consensus reached on all agenda items.
