The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Somaliland, Prof. Ismail Yusuf Duale, conducted a significant inspection visit to the Burao Technical School, reinforcing the government’s commitment to advancing vocational education. The visit aligns with President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi’s pledge to modernize technical education, equipping Somaliland’s youth with critical skills to drive national development. During the tour, Prof. Duale assessed the school’s facilities, services, and immediate needs, while reviewing plans for future improvements.
In discussions with school leaders, the minister explored opportunities and challenges in elevating vocational education to meet the demands of both local and global job markets. “Our youth must be empowered with practical skills to contribute meaningfully to Somaliland’s growth,” Prof. Duale stated, urging the development of a clear roadmap to modernize technical institutions.
