The Minister of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Hon. Abdillahi Hassan Aden, accompanied Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Ismail Mawlid Abdillahi and Director General of the Ministry Mr. Mohamed Hasan Saleban, and the Accountant General Mr. Hassan Muse, convened a significant meeting today at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The meeting included ministers and project coordinators from the Ministries of Education, Energy, Agriculture, Health, Water, and Technology to assess the progress of World Bank-supported projects in Somaliland.
The discussions centered on two key objectives:
1. Ensuring the timely completion of World Bank-funded projects while addressing challenges to achieve their intended outcomes through collaborative solutions.
2. Reviewing the performance of these projects over the first six months of 2025.
The meeting resulted in critical decisions to accelerate project implementation, with ongoing monitoring by technical committees and the Council of Ministers.
This coordinated effort highlights Somaliland’s commitment to leveraging international support to drive development in vital sectors, reinforcing its reputation as a stable and democratic entity in the Horn of Africa, despite its lack of international recognition.
