President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro underscored that his discussions with Kenyan President William Ruto were highly successful, with both leaders reaching a consensus on all key issues addressed. This followed his return from a productive working visit to Kenya, where he held high-level talks with Kenyan leadership and international representatives.
During his stay in Nairobi, President Irro engaged with representatives of the international community, describing the meetings as “historic” and among the most fruitful of his tenure. He highlighted global praise for Somaliland’s peace-building efforts, particularly in stabilizing conflict-affected regions like El-Afwein. “The world recognizes Somaliland’s recent elections, security stabilization, and unification of civilian forces as significant achievements,” Irro stated.
The President emphasized Somaliland’s growing international credibility, noting that sustained peace and national unity are key to garnering global support. “These are the qualities through which Somaliland earns its reputation,” he said, underscoring his administration’s focus on strengthening ties with regional powers. Following recent visits to Djibouti and Kenya, President Irro announced plans for an upcoming trip to Ethiopia, signalling a strategic push to bolster Somaliland’s diplomatic presence.
