Nairobi- His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), President of the Republic of Somaliland, embarks to Nairobi for a multi-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and advancing Somaliland’s diplomatic agenda.
The President is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Minister of the Presidency, the Minister of Planning and National Development, the Minister of Communications and Technology, the Director of the National Intelligence Agency, and the Chief of Staff. The delegation was preceded by the President’s Economic Advisor and Special Envoy.
During the visit, President Irro is scheduled to hold talks with the Kenyan government, led by President William Ruto, focusing on critical issues of mutual interest and strategic importance to Somaliland. The discussions are expected to cover trade, security, and regional cooperation, reinforcing the growing partnership between the two nations.
In addition, the President will engage with international organizations and representatives of foreign embassies based in Nairobi, a key diplomatic hub in East Africa. These meetings aim to bolster Somaliland’s international relations and advance its quest for global recognition.
A highlight of the visit will be the inauguration of a new, state-of-the-art building for the Somaliland Embassy in Kenya. The ribbon-cutting ceremony symbolizes Somaliland’s commitment to deepening its diplomatic presence in the region.
The visit is expected to further solidify Somaliland’s strategic ties with Kenya and enhance its diplomatic footprint in the region.
