It encompasses census and reform of the country’s forces

The 1st Commander of the National Army of the Republic of Somaliland, Brigadier General Abdirizaq Saeed Bulaale, and the National Technical Committee concerned, led the nation’s servicemen in the exercises of the Registration of the Various Forces in Somaliland which began at the General Command of the National Army.
Initially, the registration of their counterparts in the national police service is already underway.
The modern Iris Biometric Registration System is the general system being utilized in the exercise.
This is part of the modernization efforts of the sector that the President of the country had vowed to implement. That of the police is already underway.
The President had appointed a committee consisting of ministers, military commanders and some of the Presidential Advisors and has been tasked with the tasks of Census and Registration System for, and modernization of, the Different Armed Forces in Somaliland.
The efforts follow the implementations of the reform pledges of the security sector that the Head of State entered during his campaigns, included in his 100 days of his first term of office.
