Somaliland Roads Authority gets direly needed road construction machineries

The Somaliland Roads Authority has been supplied by road construction and maintenance machineries that would go down well to support its services to the nation.

The Minister of Planning and National Development Hon. Dr. Ahmed Adan, the chairman of the Somaliland Development Fund, SDF on Wednesday handed over the modern equipment for the construction of roads to the Minister of Transport and Road Development who was flanked by the manager of the Road Development Agency.

This equipment consisted of asphalt pavers, road marking equipments and road construction testing equipment.

The ceremony to take over this equipment held at the Road Development Agency (RDA) was attended by the Minister of the Ministry of Planning and National Development Hon. Dr. Ahmed Aden Buhane, Minister of Transport and Road Development of Somaliland Hon. Abdirisaq Ibrahim Mohamed, Manager of Road Development Agency Eng Mawlid Nuh Ibrahim and officials from the Somaliland Development Fund of SDF including Mr. Anthony and Najax Mohamud Aden.

The equipment, which was greatly needed by the Ministry of Transport and Road Development and road agencies, will contribute greatly to the construction of highways connecting cities.

The manager of the Somaliland Road Development Agency, Engineer Mawliid Nuh Ibrahim said that they had requisitioned the equipments that the agency direly needed and that four European governments, namely “the UK, Holland, Denmark and Norway, have supported us with more than hundreds of millions of dollars, and the incalculable is depicted here today”.

His words were echoed by Hon. Dr. Ahmed Adan Buhane who expounded on how effective the tools were.
