THT-Director General of the Ministry of Finance Development Mr. Mohamed Abdi Gurhan has spoken at the close of training on scrutiny tax return given 16 officers from the Inland Revenue Department, the Internal Investigation Department, and the Office of the Attorney General.
The three-week training on the scrutiny tax returns was delivered by the Finance ministry officials and experts facilitated by ODM.
The Director-General of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mohamed, stated that it was about ensuring scrutiny tax return. He said that the key to increasing the revenue of the Inland Revenue is to get complete information from the taxpayer, and that is the key to the knowledge and experience of the officers in charge of the Inland Revenue Department and their associated internal auditors and Accounting Office.
Elaborating on the training process and those assisted, DG Gurhan added ODM had facilitated an expert in a scrutiny tax return.
He advised the trainees to pass their knowledge to the other staff at regionals and district offices, further; they would be acted as trainers of the trainee (ToT) to other staff of Inland Revenue.
