THT- National Disaster Preparedness & Food Reserve Authority (NADFOR) had released Food supplies to drought affected Eastern regions. This was confirmed by the NADFOR Chairman Faisal Ali Sheikh.
Addressing journalists during the launching of the distribution ceremony, Chairman Faisal said “We are flagging trucks full of Food stuff to the Eastern region of the country which have been severely hit by the drought. Our trucks will go to Togdher, Sanag, Sool, Buhodle, Haysimo, Hudun, Sarar and Odweine regions.”
He revealed that NADFOR expects to distribute the Food Supplies to 10000 households.
The chairman of the Disaster Preparedness agency stated that the first batch of agency employees have been dispatched to oversee the distribution process.
He also confirmed that the distribution exercise will commence in Sanaag region whereby its districts and locations three thousand and four hundred families will receive their share of the Disaster relief Food rations.
He thanked the agency employees for putting on extra effort to help their needy people.
The chairman confirmed that they were working in-conjunction with the deputy President led National Disaster Committee.
