THT-Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has awarded the best employees for exemplary work ethics.
Speaking to journalists during the award ceremony, the minister of Environment Hon. Shukri Haji Ismael Bandare commended all employees for their steadfastness and commitment to guarding and maintaining the environment.
Minister Shukri thanked all top officials and subordinate staff from the Director General to the watchmen for working with her in a very transparent manner. She said without the input of the Ministry employees, nothing could have been accomplished.
She emphasized the importance of motivation of subordinate staff like watchmen and grade c staff, who toil day and night to make the ministry a better place.
The minister thanked and praised ministry of environment employees based in the provinces for doing a marvellous job to protect against the degradation of the environment.
The minister stated that the ministry prides itself for protecting an important national asset the environment and wildlife.
She revealed that more than 55 ministry employees have been injured, killed or maimed for life for protection of the environment cause
Minister Shukri Bandare said “Our last victim was a police man who was killed by charcoal burners.”
