THT-The Minister of Information Hon. Suleiman Yusuf Ali Kore, the DG Mr. Mohamed Yusuf Ismael welcomed the actor of the famous Somali film the ‘Gravedigger’s wife’ Mr. Omar Abdi Noor. The minister and top echelons of Ministry of Information were in the forefront at Egal International Airport to receive the celebrated actor.
After alighting from a private plane from Djibouti, the celebrated actor was welcomed at the airport by Somali folk songs dancers who sang songs of praises.
First to address the press was the deputy regional governor of Hargeisa Mr. Khadar Barud Omar, who welcomed the actor to his motherland.
Speaking to journalists at the airport, the celebrated actor Mr. Omar said “I send my heartfelt greetings to Somaliland public at large. I also give my acknowledgement to all Somali-speaking people since this film is based on the Somali culture.”
Addressing the press, Minister of Information welcomed the famous actor to his homeland. Hon. Kore stated, “I’m very happy to welcome Mr. Omar to his motherland. Your people love you and welcome you back home.”
“You have taken the name of Somaliland to another level. Your film was amongst the best movies in Africa.” reiterated the minister.
